Last week, I took the girls up to Athens to visit Mema. I love Mema. I have so many wonderful memories of a childhood spent with her: trips to the symphony and the art museum, nights spent at her house eating Snickers ice cream bars and pepperoni and onion pizza, days spent playing in her yard or underneath her dining room table, her house decorated for Christmas with mini elves and Disney ornaments, digging through her picture trunk looking at old family photos...I hope it goes without saying that I am so, so thankful that my kids get to make memories with her, too.
On this particular day, Hadley and I enjoyed turkey sandwiches and snap peas while Emmy contentedly chilled on the bed. It really is the simple things. :)
