Thanks to the furlough day, we were able to enjoy a three-day weekend in Destin with the Boozers and the Mayfields (minus Shane). It was a quick trip, but sooooo worth it.
We basically spent our time sleeping, eating, watching football, and hanging out on the beach. Pretty awesome way to spend the weekend if you ask me. :)
Beach highlights for the kids included being buried and collecting dead jellyfish.
Beach highlights for the adults mostly included relaxing.
Daddy Boozer made sure we were well fed throughout the duration of the trip. We hit up The Crab Trap, The Red Bar, Harbor Docks, Mellow Mushroom, and The Donut Hole all within three days. When I type it out like that, it sounds a little gluttonous. But it sure was good.
In addition to the beach, the condo also had access to a splash pad and two large swimming pools (including a lazy river!).
We spent a late afternoon hanging out at the pool and in the hot tub (well, I didn't get in the hot tub) before heading out for a night at the go cart track.
Harris had a blast racing with the boys and Cadence, and Babe chose to ride the "horsies" instead.
Both Ben and I agree that the fall beach trip is definitely somethng we'd like to repeat.
Once we've recovered from this one, that is.
